playTOK is a private speech and language clinic located in Markham, ON with Registered Speech-Language Pathologists.

We have set our own fees accordingly in the lists below. Please note, Ontario Speech-Language Pathologist fees vary, but 2020 OSLA Fee Guide recommends that therapy sessions be $203 per hour, and $170 per 45 min sessions. See OSLA Recommended Fee Schedule. Supervision fee will be discussed for any sessions with Speech-Language Therapy Assistants.

2026 Assessment & Therapy Fees:

Speech and language (SLP) assessment is provided by a speech-language pathologist. Speech and orofacial myofunctional (OMT) assessment is provided by a orofacial myofunctional trained speech-language pathologist

Speech and language therapy may be provided by a speech-language pathologist or communicative disorders assistant.

CONSULT MEET & GREET (SLP/CDA):

• 15-minute Phone Consultation – A complimentary telephone call is available for you to discuss your needs and questions.  

IN-CENTRE SPEECH & LANGUAGE (SLP / CDA)

In-centre speech and language services are offered at our office in Markham. Availability changes and your child may be placed on a wait list.

• SLP Assessment (1 hour + analysis/goal setting) – Initial assessment appointments are 1 hour long (virtual or in-centre), followed by assessment analysis, goal setting and report writing. Subsequent sessions will be booked at an hourly rate (e.g., multiple areas of assessment). 

• SLP In-centre Therapy (1 hour) – Monthly therapy and consult sessions.*

• SLP In-centre Therapy(45 min) – Weekly or bi-monthly sessions.*
  

• CDA In-centre Therapy (1 hour) – Monthly therapy and consult sessions.*
  

• CDA In-centre Therapy (45 min) – Weekly or bi-monthly therapy sessions.*

• CDA In-Centre Group Therapy (1 hour) – Sessions occur in a group and focus on supporting parent skills and strategies to target your child’s goals. On the weeks that both the CDA and SLP attend, a supervision fee will be added for SLP assessment/supervision.

*All therapy sessions require prep and review following the session. Any sessions run by a communicative disorders assistant will be supervised by a registered speech language pathologist.

*Sessions canceled by 8:00 am on the day of therapy will not incur a fee. Sessions canceled later than this will be billed $50.

VIRTUAL SPEECH & LANGUAGE (SLP / CDA)

Virtual speech and language services are available Mon-Fri (typically after school).

• SLP Virtual Assessment (1 hour + analysis/goal setting) – Initial assessment appointments are 1 hour long (virtual or in-centre), followed by assessment analysis, goal setting and report writing. Subsequent sessions will be booked at an hourly rate (e.g., multiple areas of assessment). 

• SLP Virtual Therapy (1 hour) – Monthly virtual therapy sessions.*

• SLP Virtual Therapy (45 min) – Weekly or bi-monthly virtual therapy.*
  

• CDA Virtual Therapy (1 hour) – Monthly virtual therapy sessions.*

• CDA Virtual Therapy (45 min) – Weekly or bi-monthly virtual therapy.*

  *Sessions canceled by 8:00 am on the day of therapy will not incur a fee. Sessions canceled later than this will be billed $50.

SPEECH + FEEDING + OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY (SLP/OMT)

Orofacial Myofunctional + Speech + Feeding Assessments are completed by a Speech-Language Pathologist. An in-depth history and review will be required, followed by assessment of various areas related to oral motor, speech and feeding development. The assessment will be completed by a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with specialized training in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders.

• • Assessment & Analysis (Up to 2 hours + analysis/goal setting) –  Initial SLP + MYO assessments require 1-2 hour long sessions. Assessment, analysis and goal setting will follow. .

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy plan and frequency will be established after the initial assessment. A minimum of 4 sessions will be booked following determination of frequency and schedule. Ongoing maintenance sessions will occur with less frequency.

• • Treatment (4 sessions minimum) – Parent coaching, exercises and strategies for home will be reviewed during therapy sessions. Parents are to implement practice daily when not

GROUPS

playTOK Treatment Groups and Workshops are based on child’s ages and stages and are based upon availability. Groups are run by a communicative disorders assistant with a supervising speech-language pathologist on site.

• • Ages & Stages – Toddler or Preschool groups focusing on play and language development

  • Speech Group – Groups focusing on speech production

  • Emergent Literacy Group – Groups focusing on skills that support literacy – share books and learn about emergent skills to support reading.

  • Emergent Literacy + Fine Motor Group – Groups focusing on skills that support literacy and fine motor development.

SPEECH & LITERACY CAMPS

playTOK camps will run 1-week morning camps in the Summer.

• • Speech Camp – One week camp focusing on speech production. Each child must have recent assessment with goals (e.g., private or school board assessment).

  • Emergent Literacy Camp – Suitable for children in JK-Gr.1 to work on emergent literacy skills: phonological awareness, story comprehension, vocabulary, early print. *Parents attend 1 session.
